The location is great. Very central, a few minutes from either Bellecours/Cordeliers Metro stops, and less than a 10 minute walk to the old city. Hotel directly on 'Place du Jacobins', so giving taxi directions is easy too. Air conditioning was really good to have (was there in early sept).
Layout was a bit werid - No sink in the toilet, you had to go into the bathroom. Shower head mountet at chest height, I don't understand the logic there. :O) The Iron/Ironing board I borrowed from reception were in poor condition.

Really good stay, as always. Very good service from the top-class, caring staff members. Magnificent location, right by Bellecour Square. Wonderful restaurant for choice with all the cafes and restaurants nearby.

Fantastic position in the middle of the city. No car parking on site and were advised to use facility up the road but no relationship with the hotel. Cost of car parking 33 euro for 24 hrs.

Very good service, clean, changed our small room for a bigger one. Not all rooms have a bath tub, nice ppl at the front desk, nice cleaning lady who gave us things we forgot in our old room. Excellent area if lyon right in the center next to main streets in the presquil. Couldnt be better.
Some rooms are small w no bathtub. Only shower.

Perfect location for seeing Lyon and its museums and sights. Hotel is spotless, comfortable, friendly staff. Our room was a bit small, but an excellent value. Breakfast is a full spread and priced accordingly. Near dozens of great restaurants, open market, pedestrian shopping area. Highly recommended.

We stayed only one night and it was perfect! We loved the location. Parking is 200mts far from the Hotel. Very clean. Quite big rooms. Toilett separated from the shower and sink. Bathroom stuff complete (shampoo, aconditioner etc). The staff speaks english.
Stairs carpets a little bit old.

Great for exploring Lyon but parking issues
The location is fantastic, right near the vibrant heart of Lyon. Be aware of the nearby parking challenges and charges-it's a bit inconvenient. Opt for higher floors for potentially better views!

The reception staff. Courteous, helpful and very informed about restaurants etc The sitting room and bar area were reasonable . A good but very expensive breakfast. An excellent location
This hotel is in serious need of renovation, and I believe that it is going to have extensive work next year. We were amazed that it was part of the Mercure group, as we have always found their hotels to be of a good standard. However, for current guests it is in an unacceptably poor state. Stair carpets are dangerously worn, paintwork and walls are very poor. Our room 201 simply should not be let out to guests. It is cramped, gloomy and very poorly maintained. The bathroom is very basic and the toilet has a slight smell. On complaining we were offered another room, but because we had unpacked and were tired after a very early morning flight we accepted free breakfasts instead. ( 17.50 euros per person which we would not have paid out for anyway. ) We would not recommend this hotel to anyone in its current state although I have no doubt the refurbishment will be good given it is the Mercure group.
